Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 1, 2026
Who Plays? (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is currently a simple website and mailing list. We collect limited information, use it only for the purposes described below, and do not sell it.
What we collect
If you join our mailing list, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Records of your subscription, confirmation, and unsubscribe choices
We also use Cloudflare to host, secure, and understand traffic to our website. Cloudflare may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP addresses, browser and device information, requested pages, and security events.
Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us general information such as page views, referring sites, and website performance. It does not use analytics cookies, create advertising profiles, or let us track individual visitors over time.
How we use information
We use this information to:
- Send the Who Plays? news and updates you requested
- Operate, secure, and improve the website
- Understand general website usage and performance
- Keep a record of your choices and comply with applicable law
For visitors in the UK and European Economic Area, we rely on your consent to send marketing emails. We rely on our legitimate interests to operate and secure the site and use limited, privacy-focused website analytics, provided those interests do not override your rights.
Who we share it with
We use two service providers:
- Cloudflare, which hosts, delivers, secures, and provides analytics for our website
- Loops, which manages our mailing list and sends our emails
They process information for us under their contractual and security commitments. We may also disclose information if legally required or reasonably necessary to protect someone’s rights, safety, or security.
If Who Plays? is incorporated, reorganized, acquired, or transferred, relevant information may move to the new operator. We will require the new operator to respect the commitments in this policy and will notify you if the change materially affects your information. Suppression-list information will be transferred only as legally permitted and only so that unsubscribe choices continue to be honored.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. We will stop sending marketing emails after you unsubscribe.
We may retain your email address on a suppression list so that we remember not to contact you again. We keep only the information reasonably necessary for that purpose.
You may also email hello@whoplays.gg to ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we have about you
- Correct it or provide you with a copy
- Delete it
- Withdraw your consent or object to our use of it
We offer these choices regardless of where you live, subject to limited legal exceptions. We may need to verify that a request came from you before completing it.
People in certain places may have additional rights, including the right to complain to their local privacy or data-protection authority.
Retention
We keep mailing-list information while you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, we delete or de-identify information we no longer reasonably need.
We retain the minimum information needed to honor your unsubscribe choice, resolve disputes, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. We keep suppression-list information for as long as we operate the mailing list, unless the law permits or requires us to delete it sooner.
Children
The mailing list is intended for people who are at least 16 years old. If you are under 16, please do not subscribe yourself. A parent or guardian may subscribe using their own name and email address.
We do not knowingly accept mailing-list subscriptions from anyone under 16. If you believe someone under 16 has subscribed, please contact us and we will remove their information.
International processing
Who Plays? is based in Massachusetts, United States. Cloudflare and Loops may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.
When data-protection law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we rely on the safeguards offered through our agreements with these providers.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information and limit access to it. No system is completely secure, but we keep our data collection limited and use trusted service providers.
Changes
If our product or data practices change, we will update this policy before using personal information in a materially different way. We will post the updated date above and provide additional notice when appropriate.
